Current Productions at ACMA

Season Schedule
The ACMA Acting Company will offer over five theatre productions during the 2003/2004 school year. Productions will include, Gossip, Antigone, One Act Festival, Electra, ACMA Acting Showcase, and various Beaverton School District Student Matinee Workshops.

Working collaboratively with professional artists, parents, teachers, and community volunteers, students lead in the development of all aspects of our productions.

Greensleeves Magic:

Description
In this Children's Theatre comedy the merry hearted vagabond singer Greensleeves brings happiness and magic to the sad and dreary kingdom ruled by the evil Grand Duchess. Greensleeves teaches Princess Miranda to find the courage to sing, dance, and laugh out loud - liberating her family and giving her countrymen the freedom to be happy.

Comedy Tonight:

Description
This showcase of student work will feature comedic scenes, monologues, sketches, and musical comedy. All performers are students in the fall semester Theatre Experience class.

Writers: Shakespeare

Description
Shakespeare's classic romp of mistaken identity is set in the chaotic streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Two sets of twins, separated at birth are reunited in a parade chasing, voodoo chanting, bead tossing whirl of Shakespearean verse and contemporary drama!

Cirque des Arts Auction:

Description
The ACMA PTO is sponsoring this auction to fundraise for student programs at ACMA. Additional information is available from the PTO or FAME organizations.

EMPIRE:

Description
This student devised performance will emerge out of our school theme, and students' study of empires across time. Focusing on themes of power, leadership, and the role of democracy students will develop an original presentation.

ACMA Acting Showcase 2005:
Dates: Performance June 3 5pm

Price: No Charge

Writers: Selected Scenes

Description
This combination of scenes and monologues from American Playwrights will feature performers in the Acting Company. Performers will have an opportunity to meet and discuss their presentations with a panel of Directors, Agents, and Casting Directors.

BSD Student Workshop Matinees:

Writers: Student Written One-Acts

Description
In maintaining our mission to provide educational theatre performances to Elementary and Secondary schools in our district, the ACMA Acting Co. will perform selected workshops for invited student audiences. Some productions will also tour to selected BSD schools upon request.
