This ancient Greek tragedy set in a contemporary war torn country tells the story of a young woman torn between the laws of her corrupt uncle, and the laws of the gods. Using techniques of Epic Theatre as outlined by Brecht, students will present a contemporary conflict between the power and righteousness of the laws and leaders vs. the power and righteousness of individual morality and will.

A funny, original and powerful fable about friends and enemies set in a wild and remote landscape that only supports sheep and goats. Two tribes, the shepherds and the goatherds, live in mutual animosity and fear. Each generation learns and teaches hatred through family rituals, memories, and traditions to continue the legacy of hatred. When a young shepherdess feels compassion and curiosity towards a poor goatherd, the family unravels and divides with fear and blame. Anger feeds war and violence erupts - fueling destruction. In desperation, both sides turn to religion - to hope for the dream of peace.

Civics TV
In this partnership with The Oregon Bar Association, students worked with Director Jami Spiesman, Portland-area lawyers, and TVTV cable access studios to research, stage and film courtroom interpretations of well-known fairy tales. Final films were broadcast on cable access and used for educational programming at The Oregon Bar.
